Our Story
Building upon more than 40 years of experience serving youth and families, NextGen Empowerment Method, Inc. has evolved into the National Family Alignment Initiative, Inc.(NFAI). A broader vision designed to strengthen women, develop men, stabilize youth, and align families. NextGen provided trauma-informed care and transitional support to youth navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. Our work was grounded in a simple but powerful belief: Lasting transformation begins with healing.
But, over the years, we witnessed firsthand that many of the challenges facing youth were deeply connected to the health and stability of the families and relationships surrounding them. This realization sparked a broader vision. One that would eventually evolve beyond youth services alone.
In 2021, that vision began to take shape with the launch of the first Sister-to-Sister Gathering, bringing together 67 women in a safe and supportive environment where they could share their experiences, build meaningful connections, and begin their healing journeys.
As participation grew, Sister-to-Sister expanded into structured healing circles designed to help women strengthen emotional resilience, increase self-awareness, and develop leadership within their families and communities. Recognizing the importance of early mentorship and guidance, the program later expanded to include young girls between the ages of 16 and 19, creating opportunities for intergenerational growth and support. Then, in 2025, a pivotal moment occurred.
Several men who had traveled with their wives, mothers, and sisters to a Sister-to-Sister event in Houston, Texas, were invited to observe one of the sessions. Deeply moved by what they witnessed, they approached the founder afterward and asked a simple but profound question:
"How can we work together to create this same type of impact for men and families?"
That moment revealed an important truth:
Youth do not develop in isolation.
Women do not heal in isolation.
Men do not grow in isolation.
When one part of the family system strengthens while others remain unsupported, growth becomes fragile.
This shared understanding led to a partnership between Sister-to-Sister, its youth leadership initiatives, and BROCODE, an established brotherhood and male development program. Together, they formed the foundation of what would become the National Family Alignment Initiative (NFAI).
Today, NFAI serves as a comprehensive ecosystem designed to strengthen women, develop men, stabilize youth, and support healthier family relationships through healing, mentorship, leadership development, and faith-centered growth.
Our name has changed, but our commitment remains the same: To create environments where healing is possible, growth is attainable, families are strengthened, and future generations can thrive.
