Our Mission
Help families heal and grow together.
To strengthen families by empowering women, developing men, and supporting youth through faith-centered, trauma-informed programs that promote emotional healing, personal growth, and family stability.
Our Vision
A world where every family is strong, healthy, and full of hope.
To build a future where families are emotionally healthy, relationally aligned, and equipped to raise resilient generations.

Core Problem
The Family Stability Crisis
The NFAI approach recognizes that many social and behavioral challenges faced by youth and families are interconnected. Emotional trauma, relational breakdowns, and lack of supportive environments often affect entire family systems rather than individuals alone. It became increasingly clear that when one part of the family system strengthens, but others remain unsupported, growth becomes fragile.
Young people do better when families grow together.
A thoughtful donation of just $100 will sponsor a young person in attending our annual NFAI event to change their life.

The Solution
The Family Alignment Model
The National Family Alignment Initiative responds to these challenges through a coordinated family-centered model that strengthens women, develops men, empowers youth, and promotes healthy family relationships. Rather than offering isolated services, NFAI brings together three integrated leadership pathways; Sister-to-Sister National Collective, BROCODE, and the Young Ambassador Leadership Academy to provide healing, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement.
Together, these programs create opportunities for individuals to grow, families to reconnect, and communities to build a culture of resilience, leadership, and hope.
Frequently Asked Questions
Things you probably want to know
Will what my family shares stay private?
Absolutely. At NFAI, confidentiality isn't just a legal requirement, it's a covenant we take seriously. Everything shared in individual sessions, group therapy, or family counseling is fully protected under HIPAA privacy laws. Your story belongs to you.
A few important exceptions exist that we are always transparent about: if there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, or if abuse of a child or vulnerable adult is disclosed, we are legally and ethically required to act. Outside of those circumstances, what happens in your sessions stays there. Including from other members of your own family. Each person's record is private, even from their spouse or parent.
We believe healing requires a safe space first. We are committed to being that space.
Do we have to come as a family or can we start alone?
Not at all. In fact, most families begin with just one person and that's perfectly okay. One courageous step from one family member is often the seed that eventually brings the whole family forward.
At NFAI, we offer individual therapy, gender-specific group sessions for men and women, targeted programs for teenagers, and mentorship for young boys, all as standalone entry points. You don't need to wait until everyone is ready. You just need to start.
Think of it like this: you don't fix a broken compass by waiting for everyone in the car to agree it's broken. Someone has to pick it up first.
How much does this cost, and do you accept insurance?
This is one of our favorite questions to answer because the answer is simple. Our CORE services are completely free to families. No insurance needed. No co-pays. No sliding scale forms to fill out. However, if you would like to begin therapy services, then individual insurance is required,
NFAI is fully grant-funded, which means donors and funding partners have and investing in your family's healing so that cost is never a barrier between you and help.
The one investment families make, which carries a registration fee, is participation in our annual family alignment gathering under the partnership of Sister-to-Sister National Collective and BROCODE. This event brings our entire community together for intensive workshops, keynote experiences, and celebrations and it is worth every penny. Announcements and/or details are usually posted on our Events Page and on Social Media platforms.
What makes NFAI different?
NFAI recognizes that families function as interconnected systems. When one part of the family struggles, the entire family is affected. Lasting change requires more than isolated services, it requires alignment. Rather than treating symptoms one individual at a time, NFAI addresses the root causes of instability by helping families work together. The result is stronger families, more stable youth, and healthier communities.
How do I get my husband/son/teenager to actually come?
This may be the most honest question we receive and we respect you deeply for asking it.
Here's the truth: you cannot force healing. But you can model it. The most powerful thing you can do right now is start your own process. When the people we love see us changing, becoming calmer, stronger, and more intentional, curiosity begins to replace resistance.
In the meantime, here is what we recommend:
Don't frame it as therapy. For many men and teenage boys, that word alone closes the door. Frame it as growth, development, or a program designed specifically for them.
Let them know it's a space built for people like them. Our men's groups are run by men. Our youth mentorship is led by men who were once those same boys.
Start the conversation, then step back. Plant the seed and give it room. Pressure accelerates resistance.
When you're ready, call us. We'll help you figure out the next step for you first, then for them, when the time comes.
